Cinderella’s Closet YEG works with schools and referring organizations to help high school students facing financial barriers access graduation attire, shoes and accessories at no cost.

What to expect at your appointment

Your Cinderella’s Closet appointment is all about finding a graduation look that feels like you. Our volunteers will welcome you into a supportive, judgement-free space where you can browse and try on graduation attire, shoes and accessories. we’ll be there to help when you want it.

There is no cost to students. Our goal is simple; to help you leave feeling confident, celebrated and ready for your big day.

Is there a cost to use Cinderella’s Closet YEG?

No. Graduation attire, shoes and accessories are provided at no cost to eligible students.

How do I book an appointment?

Students and families do not usually book directly with Cinderella’s Closet YEG. Start by speaking with a teacher, counsellor or another trusted staff member at your school. Your school or referring organization can then coordinate a visit with us.

What if my school doesn’t currently work with Cinderella’s Closet YEG?

Ask a teacher, counsellor, or another school staff member to contact us. We’re happy to connect with schools and community organizations that are new to Cinderella’s Closet YEG.

Can a parent, guardian, or friend come with me?

Our space is limited, so students visit as a part of their school or referring organization and are accompanied by one adult. We’re unable to accommodate additional guests during appointments.

Do I need to prove financial need?

No. We do not ask students to provide financial documents or proof of income. Schools and referring organizations identify students who could benefit from our program.

What grades does Cinderella’s Closet YEG support?

We provide graduation attire for Grade 12 students facing financial barriers.

Can you accommodate different sizes and accessibility needs?

Yes. We welcome students of all sizes, heights, identities, and abilities. Our volunteers will work with you to find attire that feels comfortable, affirming and right for you. We can accommodate mobility and accessibility needs, including students who use wheelchairs, as well as religious, cultural and modesty considerations. If there is something you need to feel comfortable during your visit, please let your school or referring organization know when arranging your appointment.

Do I get to keep the attire and accessories I choose?

Yes. Everything you select during your appointment is yours to keep, including your graduation attire, shoes and accessories. There is no cost and nothing needs to be returned.

Can I choose attire that reflects my identity?

Absolutely. Every student is welcome to choose the attire, shoes and accessories that feel right for them. Cinderella’s Closet YEG is an inclusive and welcoming space for all students. Our goal is for every student to feel comfortable, respected and celebrated.

Will I have a private place to change?

Yes. Each student has their own private changing room during their appointment. We want every student to feel comfortable, respected and supported throughout their visit.

When can I visit Cinderella’s Closet YEG?

Cinderella’s Closet YEG is volunteer-run and open by appointment only. We are not open for drop-ins, evenings or weekends. Appointments are scheduled during school hours and coordinated through the student’s school or referring organization.

Do you provide alterations?

No. Cinderella’s Closet YEG does not provide alterations. If your chosen attire requires alterations, you will be responsible for arranging and covering the cost of those alterations.

Schools and referring organizations play an important role in connecting students with Cinderella’s Closet YEG. To help our volunteer team provide a welcoming and organized experience for every student, we ask that visits be coordinated by one designated staff member.

How school visits work

Planning your visit

  • Group visits are preferred. Schools and referring organizations coordinate students as a group rather than requesting individual appointments.
  • Appointments are offered on select weekdays during school hours. As a volunteer-run organization, we do not offer evening or weekend appointments.
  • Booking is through a private link. Once your school or organization contacts us, our team will send the designated staff member a link showing available appointment dates and times.
